Paste "Stolen" T-shirt
|
|
|
Spotted at the Young Designers Market in NYC, Jason Laurits' awesome t-shirt line Paste
can now be found at Shine. These tees are a cool departure from the
ubiquitous and over-populated ironic pomo tee-blather that somehow
still continues to multiply like Gremlins. Paste uses both silkscreen
and foil on enzyme-washed tees with the perfect vintage cut and feel.
All t-shirts are made in the USA and are hand-printed in Brooklyn, New
York.
About the designer: (From Refinery 29) "Seems like only last week we were griping about a certain downtown
designer who was attempting to make a name for himself with such lovely
T-shirts as "Obama is my slave" and "Obama = Hitler". Oh wait. It was
last week. With publicity like that, it's no surprise, then,
that one T-shirt designer, Jason Laurits, singer, turned model, turned
clothesmaker is steadfastly plotting the demise of his competitors in
what he has dubbed, "the hipster, graphic T-shirt arms race." When
he isn't editing his ready-to-wear collection, Plaster, Laurits is hard
at work silk-screening his graphic T-shirt collection, Paste. By
imbuing his prints with a little less asshole and a little more
narrative, he dodges the current trend in graphic snark. "The Stolen"
T-shirt's foil-printed jewels hearken to the true history of our
gentrifying spaces."
