Trovata Blue Silk Dress
|
|
|
Hits the just above the knee, falls at the natural waist. This dress is sexy because she's smart. The magic in Trovata is in the details. Back zip of metal and lucite, pleating is pretty without being precious.
About the designer: (From our blog ShineCollective.com) In the world of thrift shopping, it’s all about the score. It’s what
drives the hunter to the kill- the find that’s just waiting for the one
patient enough to sift through the wreckage (Go ahead! Plant your flag into that pile of dirty old handbags- there just might be a Goyard in there!). In Italian, the word Trovata
means “to be found” - the young designers behind the label elegantly
pay homage to this hipster sport of the hunt in name and style.
We’ve been eagerly anticipating the arrival of this line- which is
new for us- but works so well in the space, it’s as if they’ve been
with us forever. The young California label is known for its slightly tweaked preppy
looks (Vogue described it as “Fast Times at Ridgemont High meets The
Royal Tenenbaums”), but make no mistake- the tailoring here is fine and
gorgeous. Blending prep school elements with idiosyncratic details and a beach-casual
sensibility, the brand is one of Orange County’s most visible additions
to the world of high fashion. This collection is the label’s second
since the breakup of designer trio John Whitledge,
Jeff Halmos and Sam Shipley. The outcome is Whitledge’s execution of
beautifully wearable pieces that maintain the Trovata stamp- superbly.
